Something You Cannot Do

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
— II Corinthians 12:9

With that New Testament scripture in mind, and as we move another day in the direction of Easter, ponder these words from Henry Moore for the rest of this week:

The secret of life is to have a task, something you devote your entire life to, something you bring everything to, every minute of the day for your whole life. And the most important thing is - it must be something you cannot possibly do.

What are you devoting your life to? What is it that you cannot possibly do?

Paul the Apostle responds to his own statement in our earlier verse:

So I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses ...
for whenever I am weak, then I am strong
— II Cor. 12:10

Therefore, this week, and maybe the rest of your life, whatever you cannot do? God's power is made perfect in our weaknesses. And that is good enough.

I look forward to sharing Good Friday evening with you in preparation to our being together again for Easter worship this Sunday.
