Giving at FBC Decatur

For those of us who call First Baptist Church Decatur home, we believe that generosity is a part of spiritual formation. While our generosity takes many forms, giving financially through our local church is the primary way for us to participate with God in mission to Decatur and the world.

Year End Giving at FBCD

Plan ahead for tax deduction on your 2017 donations. To be considered tax deductible for 2017, gifts not given in worship in 2017 must be hand-delivered to the church office by noon on Friday, December 22, 2017, post-marked by Saturday, December 30, 2017, or donated securely online here by the end of day December 31, 2017.

Church Office Christmas Hours
The church offices will be closed December 25 - January 1st. So if you’re wanting to drop off a year end gift by the office, plan accordingly! Normal office hours will resume January 2, 2018.

Online giving

Throughout the website you will see a link to our online giving page. The steps are easy to follow. There are several reasons to consider offering your gifts online:

Consistency. When we are away from home it’s easy to neglect our giving. Giving online allows us to give even when we are far from home.

Convenience. From your computer or phone you can give anytime, anywhere.

Helping the church. Online giving helps the finance office to simplify accounting and expedite your gift.

Also, many financial institutions offer free automatic “bill pay” service. With this feature, you authorize your bank or credit union to provide recurring payments to the recipients you indicate. This is even more convenient for you and it helps the church continue ministry even when you are away on business or vacation.
