  • PICTURE BOOK

    • Bear Sees Colors by Karma Wilson
Bear goes walking with Mouse on his head and they see different colors and their friends. The end of their adventure is shown with color EVERYWHERE! The story is an invitation that very young children will find hard to resist. If they don’t know their colors, a few strolls through the book will bring them up to speed. The engaging text and the large-scale, colorful acrylic paintings have many objects to spot. A wonderful introduction to colors.

  • JUVENILE FICTION

    • Monstrous Devices by Damien Love

On a winter’s day in a British town, 12 year old Alex receives a package in the mail: an old tin robot from his grandfather. Strange events start occurring around Alex and before things get out of hand, his grandfather arrives and together they travel across Europe unraveling the riddle of the robot. “Monstrous Devices effortlessly brings mythic legend and modern life together in one exhilarating, breathless chase. With humor, relentless adventure and true insight, Damien Love compels us to look closely at our wishes and illusions, at the dark and light forces of creation, at what really makes us tick.” S. E. Grove, author. For ages 9-12.

  • ADULT FICTION

    • Death at the Sign of the Rook
Ex-detective Jackson Brodie is called to Yorkshire to solve the case of a stolen painting. But he soon uncovers a string of unsolved thefts that head him down a dizzying spiral of disguises and deceit to a rundown estate converted to a hotel hosting Murder Mystery weekends. We are treated to one of Atkinson’s charming and clever mysteries, one that pays homage to the masters of the genre - from Agatha Christie to Dorothy L. Sayers and the movie Knives Out. “Unputdownable”.

  • ADULT NON-FICTION

    • Lincoln’s Lady Spymaster by Gerri Willis
“Just when we thought the American Civil War had little new to offer, along comes” this book, “a masterful study of Elizabeth Van Lee, a loyal Southerner who operated a highly successful Union intelligence network right under the nose of the Confederate government in Richmond. With a keen eye for historical detail, Willis spins a yarn with enough real-life colorful characters and cloak-and dagger twists to make even Ian Fleming blush”. William B. Feis, author.
