Have you ever wondered how to teach your kids a faith that’s very different from the model you were taught as a kid? Have you stared at your child in a panic after they asked you a theological question and wondered how in the world to answer it? Or wondered how you’ll respond when they are old enough to start asking questions? Have you ever wanted to talk with other parents about how to raise your kids in a faith that's dynamic and personal, but also inclusive and open?
If you’ve ever asked one of these questions, or are asking them now after reading the above paragraph, we’re creating a space for you. We're starting a new discussion/book/Bible study group for parents, where we'll ask how we live out our faith not just for ourselves, but for the kids in our care.
Beginning Sept. 13, we’ll meet during the small group hour on Sundays, but only once a month so you're not taken away from your Sunday School class.
And we’re starting with the amazing book Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn't Have to Heal From by Meredith Miller. No need to have it in hand before Sept. 13. Just show up to see what this discussion group is all about.
As a mom, I’m looking forward to this! And as a pastor to both children and their families, I’m so grateful to have the chance to start this sort of conversation. I really hope you can be a part of it.
