Critter Creators

A New and Imaginative Children’s Sculpture Class

This unique and exciting class will take your young artist beyond the traditional 2D projects they’re used to in school. In this hands-on sculpture course, students will explore the magical world of animals and mythical creatures by building imaginative 3D artworks. Using fun and accessible materials like papier-mâché, recycled objects, and clay, children will learn the foundations of sculpture while developing essential fine motor skills. From crafting dragons to designing jungle creatures, students will bring their wildest ideas to life and leave with creations they’ll be proud to show off!

Course Objectives:

  • Explore the magical world of animals and mythical creatures by building imaginative three-dimensional artworks

  • Use papier-mâché, recycled objects, and clay to bring your ideas to life

  • Learn foundations of sculpture and develop essential fine motor skills

  • Leave with a creation of your very own that you’re proud to show off

Schedule: Tuesdays, 3:30-5:30 pm

  • Session 1: September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and October 7

  • Session 2: October 14, 21, 28, and November 4, 11, and 18

Ages: Grades K–2

Tapestry T-Shirts

Hand Sewing and Design 101

Are you curious about fashion and want to know how to make your own clothes, but you don’t know where to start? Welcome to Tapestry T-Shirts, a beginner’s sewing and design class! Fabric tells the story of the hands that made it, stitch by stitch. Students will learn basic hand sewing materials, techniques, and stitches, in addition to garment sketching, design ideation and sustainability practices to create their very own customized t-shirt made from upcycled fabrics. Through embroidery and patchwork collage, these handmade shirts will become rich tapestries that share students’ personalities and interests, providing a unique outlet for creative expression and a foundational knowledge of hand sewing — lifelong skills!

  • Explore sketching, fashion design, embroidery, and collage

  • Gain lifelong skills in sewing, creativity, and self-expression

Schedule: Thursdays, 6:30-8:00 pm

  • Session 1: September 4, 11, 18, 25, and October 2, 9

  • Session 2: October 16, 23, 30, and November 6, 13, and 20

Ages: Third Grade and up (teenagers and adults welcome)

Cost: $250 per session per student

Registration for our 2025 Summer Camps is now closed. Our offerings this year include two musical theater camps, a visual art camp, and a chamber music camp.
