February 2026 Winter Intensives
This February, join DFAA, along with Decatur Avondale Children’s Choir (DACC) Director Mark Green, for two exciting and creative camps! During City of Decatur and DeKalb County schools’ winter break (February 16-20, 2026), DFAA will host two camps for students of all grades – Fine Arts Camp (grades 1-5) and Musical Theater Intensive (grades 6-12).
Fine Arts Camp is a partnership between DFAA and the Decatur Avondale Children’s Choir (DACC) and is for students in first through fifth grade. Students will explore their creativity through music instruction with Mr. Mark Green in the mornings, followed by art, drama, and storytelling activities led by DFAA instructors and guest artists in the afternoons. Fine Arts Camp will conclude with a showcase of student artwork and musical and theatrical performance on Friday afternoon.
During the Musical Theater Intensive, led by DFAA’s Robert Cushing and Casey Margerum, campers will produce and perform in scenes, solos, and group numbers; participate in workshops with guest artists; and develop their skills in acting, singing, and performance. Students will also enjoy hands-on training in set building, costume design, stage management, and more! The week will culminate in an end-of week performance alongside the work of the younger campers.
