When That Time Comes
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 (NRSV)
Aging Spiritually: Emptied and Filled
“. . . for it is God who is at work in you,
enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:13
Dear Friends:
Spiritual maturity demands that we all know the difference between guilt and shame. Shame can be debilitating; and it comes from a most unhealthy place. Guilt, on the other hand, can facilitate change. Guilt can generate in us a little more compassion, a deeper sense of empathy, a better awareness of how others might feel.
Lean Not
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.”
– Proverbs 3:5-8
Aging Spiritually: From Resentment to Gratitude
“So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day”
2 Corinthians 4:16
