Adult Ministries //

Human beings are created by God to be in community with each other. As Christians, we thrive and mature as we live our lives in relationships with other Christians, including those outside our immediate families. That’s why we have a vibrant ministry for adults at First Baptist Decatur!

We have several different kinds of groups for adults, including Sunday School classes, small group Bible studies, and get-togethers for men and women of all ages and backgrounds.

Young Adult Ministry

Come and join a new group of young adults that are growing in relationship with each other and with God! The church is one of the only places left where young people can naturally meet each other, yet so often the church refuses to engage with topics that ignite the passions and concerns of young folks. At FBCD, we have a theological worldview that allows us to mix the socio-political concerns of today with a Jesus that still cares about our souls. If these types of conversations interest you, please consider visiting and becoming a part of them!

Last Sundays

Join the young adults at 12:30 pm the last Sunday of every month for lunch near downtown Decatur!

Monthly Fellowship

We know young people are busy building their careers and pouring into their own lives, so we don’t want to overwhelm anyone with extra obligations. However, once a month we intentionally gather for fellowship and/or fun. We have come together for murder mystery parties, movie nights, monastery visits, and more!

In-Betweeners

At FBCD we have just recently started a ministry that we are calling “In-Betweeners” aimed at fostering community among those in their late 30s, 40s, and early 50s. We meet once per month at a church member’s home for light refreshments and fellowship. If you are interested in plugging into this community, please contact Sarah Lewis, slewis@fbcdecatur.com. Children are welcome!
