In recent weeks our nation has been struggling with systemic racial injustice, most horribly visible in the unjust deaths of too many people of color at the hands of police and civilian vigilantes. The sins of our ancestors have passed from generation to generation for over 400 years.

What does your soul thirst for today? Rest? Comfort? Normalcy? Whatever you are thirsting for, the presence of God is with you always; and is promised to you if you only draw near to God and open your heart to the ways God wants to speak to you and quench your soul.

God’s love within you allows you to turn away from yourself and your suffering, finding strength in God’s presence with you. God’s love enables you to rise above your suffering, reaching out to others who can suffer with you and offer comfort to you.
