Prayer for Remembrance

Inspired by “U.S. Deaths Near 100,000, an Incalculable Loss,” New York Times, May 24, 2020.

“Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16)

God’s spirit also speaks to us when things are not as they should be. In a world in which my neighbors can’t breathe, God’s spirit is upon me to invite justice where privilege abounds, love where hate looms large, peace where fear is vast.

if you are wondering if God is speaking to you in a particular way, the answer is probably yes. I don't mean this in a spiritualized "perception is reality" postmodern sense. Instead what I mean is that God speaks your language and teaches you in ways that you notice and find meaningful.

A daily prayer for Hope, Love, and Grace

Consider today what God would have you see that might need to be changed and how your faith could generate a new work that will make a difference. This is the nature of prophecy. This continues to be the result and the power of Pentecost.
