We can’t control when the spiritual power of the Holy Spirit comes. But, we can create an inner environment for the Holy Spirit to fill our lives.

As we cling to cliches and commercial platitudes like lifeboats in a sea of fear, there's a message to fall back on. There is joy to be found--even in the mundane, even in sorrow, even in uncertainty.

A daily prayer for patience.

God may lead us to the most unsightly places to meet with us, but we can trust that even in the driest, deadest places, God will always show up, a refreshing presence that longs to restore us to hope amidst despair and life amidst death.

Every Tuesday afternoon, I submit a pastoral care report to the staff, and at the end, I include self-care tips of the week. So, today, I thought I might compile those tips for you, in hopes that some of these suggestions will benefit you as you navigate surviving this weird time.
