A daily prayer for April 17, 2020.

I reflected on the work of God in our life together, in my ministry and in the lives of the people I serve. My cries of “why are you so far away?” became proclamations of “I have hope and trust, and it’s going to be ok.”

Experiencing doubt and growing in faith should call us all to continued inquiry and eager investigation into those things we do not understand. We will never have all the answers, but we will at least stimulate a number of new and exciting questions.

When have you imagined the worst in your life? When have you faced a personal crisis and assumed all was lost?

These disciples are seeing Jesus in person and yet they still have doubts. I tend to be a cerebral person and often need to understand with my mind before I can fully allow my heart to follow suit. I like to think a few of the disciples were like me.
