Back from the Other Side (of the Atlantic)
Greetings Everyone:
I am thankful to be back among you; and I am so grateful the many insights and experiences that I on the educational travel experience of the Journeys of Paul in Greece. Beth and I just returned late Saturday (and we so enjoyed worshipping with you while I was able to experience the excellent sermon by our own Rev. Dr. Eric McDonnell).
I was glad to get to see many of you, and also thankful to experience both Sunday services and sermons by just being among you. What a treat to worship, listen, sing and soak in the goodness of our gathered community without having to be “on” and attentive to and distracted by what I need to be saying for the sermon.
I am thankful, too, for such a superb staff filled with talented, faithful and faith filled individuals. We are also truly blessed in a myriad of ways and with a whole host of additional lay leaders like Eric and the Rev. Dr. Bill Neal (who also gave a very meaningful Stewardship Moment) and many others who daily contribute to the running of our church and to the blessedness of our community.
So it is good to be back; it is good to reenter this good place and be reminded again of the multitude of ways God is at work. I look forward to sharing some of the many ways that my life, faith and passion has been impacted by our travels in Greece. That will be coming soon and in a variety of ways.
Between photos, stories, Bible background, archeology, history and new biblical insights, I hope to offer lots of new and helpful ways we can deepen our discipleship and improve our Christian service. I pray the inspiration that I have felt over this journey will be inspiring for you as well.
In the meantime: special congratulations to our own Rev. Zach Mason on his ordination Sunday night, and for a tremendous gathering of diverse and fascinating people of all ages. We came together with glad hearts to offer blessings and to be part of an extraordinary evening. Well done Zach and thanks for allowing us to be part of your beautiful journey!
Also, special thanks to Shelley for the added role she played in coordinating the ordination service – this on top of a whole long series of exciting Children's events and FS worship planning she was overseeing, including one Children’s event right before the ordination. Thank you Shelley!!
Blessings to you all and I look forward to catching up with as many of you as soon as possible!
Love,
David
