We Have the Power

We are free.

Not mastered by sin

We have the power

To say No;

And to say:

Yes.

No. 

To temptation.

No, to every lie that tries to sway us

With each seductive persuasion 

Calling out to 

Our lesser selves.

We have the power

To say no.

And to say:

Yes.

Yes, to all that is good 

And right and true.

Yes, to all that is holy 

And worthy of praise.

Yes, to beauty 

And excellence and blessing.

Yes to hope 

And laughter and trusted friends.

Yes to grace 

And forgiveness and wisdom.

Yes to love 

And the liberation we also know 

as salvation.

This is what Jesus offers:

Our greatest gift of all.

Empowering us to say no;

Inviting us to say: 

Yes!
