A Note About Prayer Concerns

FBCD Family –

At the end of May 2018, a new regulation went into place throughout the European Union called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It requires any and all websites doing business (or with an audience) in the E.U. to maintain certain standards in regard to how personal information is handled. While these changes are not mandated in the United States yet, they will be in a matter of time.

Most US-based churches are in the clear. First Baptist Church of Decatur, however, occasionally receives web traffic originating from European countries. As a result, we made changes to our Privacy Policy.

The changes in our Privacy Policy are an increased effort from our end to protect your personal information, not just your contact information, but information concerning you as well (i.e. Prayer Concerns). In an effort to protect your personal information, we have removed the Prayer Concerns from our website as well as from the weekly email.

How to Access the Weekly Prayer Concerns:

As members of FBCD, you will still have access to this information concerning the well-being of those in our church community. There are three (3) different ways you can still gain access to the Prayer Concerns:

  1. Contact the Welcome Center (404-373-1653; welcomecenter@fbcdecatur.com) and request a copy of the Prayer Concerns to be emailed to you digitally;

  2. Stop by the Welcome Center during normal business hours and request a hardcopy; or

  3. Request a hardcopy on Sunday morning.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, in our increasingly digital world, we feel it is best to protect your personal information (and information about you) as much as possible.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about our new Privacy Policy, you may contact Dilshad Premji at dpremji@fbcdecatur.com or Matt Snyder at communications@fbcdecatur.com
