Weekly Letter from the Pastor — July 7, 2017

July 7, 2017

Dear FBCD Family,

I hope you are enjoying your summer. We have all probably benefited from slowing down a bit and getting some vacation time away.

I hope you are as excited as I am about welcoming Jeff Willetts as we restart FBU in July on the theme “Hard Questions for God.” Please come out and bring a friend. Jeff is a theologian with a pastor’s heart.
I have two important announces to share relative to staff changes. Kaitlyn Curtice, who has served with distinction as the Fresh Start Worship Leader for the last year, has resigned effective July 23. Kaitlyn has developed an increasingly visible national ministry of writing and speaking. Her opportunities are growing exponentially and she feels led at this time to pursue those opportunities with her best efforts. Here is a link to her website: kaitlincurtice.com.  She and her family will be leaving our church. They will always be an important part of the legacy of FBCD. You will have a chance to say good-bye to Kaitlyn and her family on July 23 in the Fresh Start service. We are deeply grateful to the Curtice family for their contribution to the church and to Kaitlyn for her leading worship in Fresh Start.

This month Lois Graham, Communications Director, will be leaving her position after serving on staff for over six years. She and her husband Wayne are beloved members of our church. I am glad to say they will remain a part of our faith community.

Our busy Personnel Committee, under the leadership of Bill Neal, is already at work exploring options for meeting our staff needs. Please be in prayer as we move forward to fill these positions, and for Lois, Kaitlyn and their families.

I look forward to seeing each of you this Sunday!
Pastor David
