A Christmas tradition of giving
Decatur Season of Giving/Christmas Decatur celebrates its 20th year of neighbors and community members helping low-income children and senior citizens enjoy the holidays. FBCD has participated in this mission for more than 10 years. Wish Lists for the 2015 program will be available in late October and early November from Mai Cavalli who is coordinating this for our church.
As FBC has done in the last few years, we are asking classes to adopt seniors who live across the street in Clairmont Oaks who have limited incomes and no or few family members to help during the Christmas Season. Your class can also sponsor low income children who live in Decatur. Gifts must be purchased and delivered to a collection center on Saturday, Dec. 5.
Here are the ways your class or individuals can help:
Request a Wish List from Mai Cavalli to buy gifts for a specific child or senior. Spend approximately $100. You class will receive a list of items with specific sizes and wishes. If a child needs a warm winter coat, please make that your first purchase. We also want every child to receive a book. If you purchase your book at Little Shop of Stories and mention why, the shop will donate 20 percent of your purchase to A Season of Giving/Christmas Decatur.
Give a check and a volunteer will do the shopping. Make the check payable to A Season of Giving/Christmas Decatur and give it to Mai Cavalli.
For more information contact Mai Cavalli at 404-931-2394 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Forms that your class can use to request with lists will be distributed to classes on Sunday.
