Dr. Peter Rhea Jones is the J. Truett Gannon Professor of Preaching and New Testament at McAfee School of Theology, where he has taught since 2000. Before coming to McAfee, Peter Rhea was the senior pastor of FBC Decatur from 1979 until 2000. He was named Pastor Emeritus of FBCD in 2007. Prior to coming to Georgia, he served on the New Testament faculty of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky from 1968 to 1979. He has earned degrees from Union University, University of Mississippi, Princeton Theological Seminary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Peter Rhea is the author of Teaching of the Parables and Studying the Parables of Jesus. He is married to Ellen and together they continue to bring good gifts to our church as faithful members.
