children's ministry

It is a joy and a privilege to share the love of Christ with children at FBC Decatur.  At the same time we recognize that most of a child's spiritual development happens not at church, but at home. Therefore we see it as our mission to partner with families in pointing their children toward Christ.

We believe that there is no better way to accomplish the goals of the church than to join with families in the all-important task of leading the next generation into a life-giving, life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ—knowing him and becoming more like him—is at the center of all our programs, curricula and decision-making. 

Our Children's Ministry is Child-focused.
Before children can learn about Jesus they (and their parents or guardians) must feel safe and welcome.
 

Our Children's Ministry is Creative.
We believe that learning about Jesus should be fun and relevant. We use drama, music, videos, games and interactive exercises to involve the children in learning Bible truths.

Schedule

• Children who are 3rd-5th graders will attend Fresh Start with their parents.
• Children who are 1st and 2nd graders will attend Fresh Start for a time of music and praise, but will be escorted out before the message and led to Fresh Start Kids for an age-appropriate worship time.
