Health and Wellness
at First Baptist Church of Decatur
Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit. Caring for this gift that God has given us is an important aspect of loving ourselves and giving ourselves physical strength so we can love God and our neighbors. To that end, we have some health and wellness opportunities you might be interested in!
restorative yoga | mondays at 3:30pm
Restorative Yoga is a slow-paced practice good for all levels. This class is designed to decompress after a stressful day.
Restorative Yoga has the ability to leave us nourished and well rested. We will warm the muscles and create space in the body to prepare it for relaxation. It is the perfect way to balance a strong yoga practice as well as for those with injuries, stress or who people who just need gentle yoga.
This class uses props, some of which will be provided. Please bring a towel, which will be used as a neck pillow. Some yoga mats, bolsters and blankets are available.
Cost is $6 per person
Please contact Dilshad Premji (firstname.lastname@example.org) if interested.
A Healthy Taste of Fall
Visit the Decatur Farmers Market every Wednesday (4-7) and Saturday (9-1) in October for a free “Healthy Taste of Fall.”
The market chef will prepare a healthy fall dish for you to taste and be available to answer any of your healthy cooking questions! Look for the green tent that says “Chef Demonstration” next to the “Information Booth.”
The first 20 people at each market to tell the chef that they are members of FBCD will receive a $5 coupon to spend at the market.
If you’re interested in participating in any of these Health and Wellness programs, or are interested in leading another opportunity for our members in the church and local community, please contact Dilshad Premji at email@example.com. Thanks!
